As always, I feel inspired by Anna - who does the most beautiful things. So I now also wanted to try spinning. Went to Handweavers Studio in north London and got my first spindle and some wool (and some other "bits" I couldn't resist). Didn't totally trust my ability, so I got the very basic and simple spindle, in case I couldn't get the hang of it.
Nancy in the shop kindly showed me how to spin and here is my first attempt ever to spin my own wool... Not very even, but it is great fun. But HELP, now I don't know what to do with it. when I take it off the spindle it all tangles up! Has anyone any tips for me? All help very appreciated.
Just found some help on YouTube here.
Elliot saw some angora rabbits on the children's TV program yesterday and thought we could have some in our garden and I could use their wool to spin and knit. Interesting idea?!
