Elliott's knitted hat!!!

I just have to show the hat Elliott made himself at school. Everything from making (yes making...) his own double pointed needles to choose the colours and finally (and the best) KNIT HIS OWN HAT!!! WOW - I'm a proud mother.
Steiner Waldorf education is just amazing!!! And being a 'craft-lover' myself, I just love how the boys seems learning to knit is as natural as learning to write, read and learning the times tables.
Keep Knitting!

Long time coming...

I'm confident I will soon receive the award of slowest laziest blogger !!

Some time ago - I mean really some time ago, I finished this sweater for Elliott. I so wish I had a camera - and skills - to take lovely and authentic photos showing the lovely green colour of this lovely wool. - But I haven't got a professional camera, nor professional skills, so this is all I can show.

Zac then of course wanted the same, so with beautiful blue, New Lanark Chunky yarn from lovely BaaRamEwe he got a warm and cosy slipover.

So both boys are equipped for colder weather.

Supposed to be loved

I was instantly seduced by the lovely 'peerie flooers' when first saw it visiting 'Baa Ram Ewe' sometime last year.
Having a ‘big head’ i went for the ‘medium hat’ size. But, inexperienced as I am knitting fair isle, my tension must be totally off and the hat is now much to big - and a great disappointment.  It is still lovely and the colours are amazingly beautiful - as is the yarn; Rowan Fine Tweed - but I cannot say that I love the finished hat being so large.

Anyway, some (not very good) photos, taken by myself, of myself...

Summer Holiday

Summer Holiday is lovely! We even got a proper summer feeling here in the UK with weeks of sunny weather.

Holidays also means that there is finally some time for knitting also. So in the middle of the heat wave I knitted the beautiful Peerie Flooers hat last week. Now it is only about a million loose ends to weave in... - and the blocking. Photo to come if when I get that done.

As 'end of year' present from my lovely kindergarten families I got gift vouchers to the beautiful yarn-shop 'Nest' in Crouch End, London. So it didn't take me long to 'pop in' for some wool. Six skeins of lovely Soft Donegal Tweed it was and it knits up lovely into my second Vivian - cardigan by Ysolda as my first one is worn to bits.

In previous post I told you about the two lovely little mini lop rabbits we got for Elliott and Zac. Sadly, the fox got hold of 'Sunny' - the cutest bunny in the world. There was two very upset little boys here (+ me) and we quickly had to find another rabbit for Elliott. So here we now Fluffy's new friend Silver.
Even though Silver also is very cute, he has a bad habit of 'nibbling' us when held and cuddled - something that little boys isn't that keen on... Fingers crossed the biting habit will go away...

Baby Boom

A couple of friends have recently had babies, so to welcome those two new baby boys I knitted this hat and these little booties. Both lovely and super cute but after finished the purple hat, I knitted the second one in the round rather than on straight needles. I feel it turned out much better without a bulky seam at the back of the hat for new little heads.
