Slippery Socks Completed

In the last days of May, I finished the April Socks - Slippery Socks by Olivia (a high-school student!!! If only I could create something lovely like this.) from Knitty. I changed the heel and made it as in Quill Lace, as I liked it more.

As I said before I was long not sure if I wanted to knit them, but as I did, I am so pleased. They where fun to knit and looks great. Especially as i just learned to knit cables without the extra needle, which makes life much easier. I learned from this tutorial: http://www.grumperina.com/cables.htm. I also found that Mia put a great tutorial on her blog (Swedish). Try it and you will never fear cables again.
As I was knitting these socks, I had three friends in mind and now I'm not sure who will get them! Will it be xxx or xxx or xxx???

Kanel Bullar

It's been donkeys years since I last made kanelbullar (cinnamon buns) - but with the new basket like this...
Maybe it is because I'm Swedish, living abroad, that kanelbullar is so special. Yum Yum!

Flower Power

Old Sofa turns into New Sofa. A friend offered us this futon sofa-bed some time ago, which we happily accepted as it makes a great extra bed - but it did look a bit sad. Now however...

Slippery Socks

After lots of resistance, I finally got the pins out and started with the Slippery Socks from Knitty - and boy do I love them. Just finished the first one and cannot see I will catch SSS on these ones - cannot wait for the boys to be tucked into bed tonight so I can get going again.
Especially as I now got the hang of knitting cables without the extra cable-needle, this makes life so much easier - well the cable-knitting easier anyway... Check out the tutorial here. So no excuse not to knit cables any longer.
Yarn from Fleece Artist, color Amber, bought from Garnkorgen.

Boys Room Updating

When my parents visited in February, my dear mum came with her suitcase full of yarn and fabric. So now the boys have got new curtains and matching duvet-covers in their new-painted beds. Their room slowly turns into a real boys-den.

New House and Pay It Forward-pressie

Having been between houses for six weeks - it was a fantastic feeling finally moving into our new home. Been quite busy unpacking and cleaning - but most of all enjoying the lovely house and the fantastic garden. Especially as the weather has been absolutely fab! It feels like we are on holiday...

Toward the end of 2007 I joined the Pay It Forward scheme - and while we were homeless, I received my gift from OHelene. Love the fabric with its pink spots. It's a bit funny, but as I do make a lots of bags for others, I hardly take time for making bags for myself. So this bag is very much loved and used. Now I really have to get going to make my contribution and Pay It Forward.
Haven't had much time and energy for other creativity, but some little bits are in the making...
This will eventually be a "Kanelbulle" (cinnamon-bun) Basket. Bought from fingerfarda in Sweden. Finally decided to start the April-sock - YES, that right April-socks - from my sock-club. Slippery Socks from Knitty. The fantastic yarn is Fleece Artist, color Amber. Love it!Still haven't finished my Branching Out scarf, but getting there...
