Late Start - Rapid Recovery

LinkSo I made it in the end, much thanks to (Hrm!) my visit at the hospital on Monday. What I came there for was cancelled after 5 hours waiting (and 10 hours without any food and drinks) - BUT, I did finish my Thuja Socks which were the socks I chosen for Petra's Socktoberfest.

Socktoberfest

One down - one to go...

Little boys very busy sewing these days. They're so sweet.

Now - Wish me Luck! I'm off to the hospital for my first ever general anaesthetic. Nothing serious, I'll be back later this afternoon. But for now - Good Night!

Chesterfield

Yesterday, I finally finished the chesterfield I started years ago - and it is now already in its new owners home. It feels good to pick up upholstery again after eight years away from the profession.

SocktoberFest - late start...

Finally got on my way with the Thuija-socks I choose for Petra's Socktoberfest.

Felted Mittens in Wensleydale Wool.

Started spinning of my wool from Piiku.

Birthday present

Birthday present for a little cousin.

Finally started on Oak Leaf, the September socks of Sticka Mera's sock-club. But as I also joined Petra's Socktoberfest I now feel more to knit those socks in the lovely wool from Maiden Casbah Sock yarn.

Miracle

Visiting the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace yesterday, I found another ball of what I need to finish my first attempt of Rose Red. How lucky am I ?!?

Did found a few other bits as well...
So now I will finish the hat I love so much, felt some mittens for the boys with wool from Wensleydale Longwool Sheepshop and make X-mas socks (Handmaiden Casbah Sock) for my beloved (he never read my blog).
Could have spent a fortune to be honest - if I had a fortune that is...

Will make another attempt spinning of this lovely coloured wool from Piiku. My friend Keiko gave me some and I loved the colours so much that I bought another 100g.

Highs and Lows from a Birthday

Can a birthday have a worse start than with a tummy-bug that keeps you awake most of the night... Anyway, it gave me a "legal" reason to lay flat on the sofa for most of the day.
My little boys were very, very excited with yet another birthday and very helpful opening my pressies.
My beloved had been out bought me not one but TWO dresses... And lovely ones too! Plus he managed to cook a surprise dinner for 10 without me noticing anything. But as I said, I was more than pleased to stay in my sofa-corner not being bothered with anything special.

Hats Hats Hats

Hat for Elliot. Yarn Blue Sky Alpaca Sportweight from Loop.

Hat for Zak. Free take of this pattern. Yarn - Blue Sky Alpaca Sportweight from Loop.

Hat for Amelia. Yarn - Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino from John Lewis.

Lovely Rose Red by Ysolda. Wonderful, wonderful Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed in beautiful, beautiful red. Love it!!
But, I made the hat to big - even for me who has a big head. So now it has to be unravelled and made smaller, because I just has to get this hat right...
