H A P P Y N E W Y E A R

H A P P Y N E W Y E A R !!!

I wish you all a fantastic start of 2009.

Yesterday, walking home from work... (YES work!, I did my first day after being home with little boys the last 4 1/2 years) there was the thinnest moon - so with new moon I hope for a new start.

Swedish Christmas in the UK

H A P P Y X M A S - G O D J U L

This is how excited two little boys are when they're about to meet Tomten...

...and this is the rather fat Tomte that visited us this year. Yes, he (she?) found his way all the way to London. A shame that mummy just had to nip out to the shops...
Elliot wasn't very convinced though... "- I think Tomten talk just like my mum!"

Slippers Tomten brought us. They all had leather-soles sewn on to them.

Yarn: Garnstudio's Eskimo, Pattern also from Garnstudio.

Yarn: Villmark. Pattern from Eks Lilla Bod

LinkChristmas Bolero for a little girl. Both pattern and yarn from Stoff och Stil.

My Christmas present last years was a chocolate-course with Liz at Sweet Sensations. Yum! So, here are some delicious, homemade, guilt-free truffles. Only healthy stuff!

Winter Fayre 2008

So, yesterday we finally had our Winter Fayre and it was a great success. Our craft stall alone made £935,-. Fantastic!

It was truly a wonderful day for everyone! Great home-made, organic and vegetarian food, loads of childrens activities, healing corner, silent auction, raffle, school shop, craft stall and lovely music all day long.
A big thank you to everyone who helped to organize it all and of course to all who came on the day!

Wallander

Last night was the first program of a series of Wallander here on BBC. In the announcement they mentioned the beautiful Swedish landscape, and boy is it beautiful. The sea - how I miss the sea.
Sunday evenings are now booked. Doesn't make it any worse that Kenneth Branagh is starring...

My new love - and Crafty Saturday

Having sent out envy looks a long time for a new dual feeding sewing machine, I was thrilled finding this Walking Foot.Link So now my old Bernina is transformed and sewing in velvet etc a pure joy. I'm totally in love with my new little gadget. Halleluja!

Yesterday we had 35 babies, children and parents in our house making wonderful craft for our school's Winter Fayre that will take place 6th December.

The children had a ball, dads got all dusty from the wood works and the rest of us were covered in wool, felt, threads, bells etc.

Half Term in Sweden

We had a lovely time visiting family and friends in Sweden. But however I try, there is never time to see everyone and do everything I want to do when I'm back home. But thanks to all of you we did manage to see, including all my cousins who came to our reunion. I had a great evening (even though I had to see most of you beat me in bowling...)

Did make it to Eks Lilla Bod where I got some yarn for slippers for me and the boys. Yes, they will be felted soon...

Back home, Elliot one morning showed me he learnt finger-knitting.

Beside preparing for our schools Winter Fayre, I've made some cushion covers for a new interior design shop that will open in West Hampstead, London within short. I'll be back with more about this later.

Late Start - Rapid Recovery

LinkSo I made it in the end, much thanks to (Hrm!) my visit at the hospital on Monday. What I came there for was cancelled after 5 hours waiting (and 10 hours without any food and drinks) - BUT, I did finish my Thuja Socks which were the socks I chosen for Petra's Socktoberfest.

Monday 20 October 2008

Socktoberfest

One down - one to go...

Little boys very busy sewing these days. They're so sweet.

Now - Wish me Luck! I'm off to the hospital for my first ever general anaesthetic. Nothing serious, I'll be back later this afternoon. But for now - Good Night!

Chesterfield

Yesterday, I finally finished the chesterfield I started years ago - and it is now already in its new owners home. It feels good to pick up upholstery again after eight years away from the profession.

Friday 17 October 2008

SocktoberFest - late start...

Finally got on my way with the Thuija-socks I choose for Petra's Socktoberfest.

Birthday present

Birthday present for a little cousin.

Finally started on Oak Leaf, the September socks of Sticka Mera's sock-club. But as I also joined Petra's Socktoberfest I now feel more to knit those socks in the lovely wool from Maiden Casbah Sock yarn.
